Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actor, dancer and vocalist since the mid 1990s. The first Broadway parts include Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. The play You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked alongside well-known directors and actors for stage productions and on television. She continues this award-winning career with her upcoming projects. Ashford is set to next appear alongside Kumail Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive show Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford is currently in the making for Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust starring Sarah Paulson. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023 and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same team who brought us Hamilton, will direct the production. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters into the first ever impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. She was in two seasons of the popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role of Essie. She has also been in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first part as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for an Tony Award. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits his time in Los Angeles.
